New Faculty

The Department of Political Science is pleased to welcome the following new faculty members for Fall 2009!

  • Ryan Black earned his Ph.D from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009.  He specializes in American politics, judicial politics, and quantitative methods.
  • Jeffrey Conroy-Krutz earned his Ph.D from Columbia University in 2009.  He specializes in Comparative Politics.  In particular, his interests include political information and mass media, voting behavior, ethnic politics, clientelism, electoral campaigns, political parties, decentralization, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Eric Juenke comes to MSU from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He earned his Ph.D from Texas A&M University in 2005.  He specializes in minority politics, U.S. electoral institutions, state and local elections, legislative and bureaucratic minority representation, Latino politics, black politics, and democratic theory.  Eric serves in a joint appointment between the Department of Political Science and the Department of Chicano and Latino Studies.
  • Sarah Reckhow earned her Ph.D from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009.  Her research and teaching interests include urban politics, education policy, policy reform, and racial and ethnic politics.
  • Joshua Sapotichne earned his Ph.D from the University of Washington in 2009.  He specializes in public policy and federal urban policy.
